Annual Performance Targets
For FY 2006, OE has five annual performance targets. The office has achieved all quarterly milestones for the annual targets through the third quarter of FY06. The targets are as follows:
-
High Temperature Superconductivity R&D: Operate a first-of-a-kind superconductive power line on the electric grid for 240 hours.
-
Transmission Reliability R&D (Visualization and Controls R&D): Facilitate the installation and operation of 30 additional measurement units and two additional archiving and analysis locations in a real-time measurement network, for a cumulative total of 80 measuring units and 8 archiving and analysis locations.
-
Energy Storage R&D (Energy Storage and Power Electronics): Commission three pioneering energy storage systems in collaboration with the California Energy Commission (CEC) and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and produce preliminary reports using collected technical and economic data.
-
Program Direction vs. R&D Program Funding (Efficiency Measure, and a requirement for the Budget and Performance Integration Initiative): Re-baseline OE’s efficiency measure to reflect the integration of the Offices of Electric Transmission and Distribution and Energy Assurance into the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability (OE).
-
Electricity Distribution Transformation R&D (Distributed Energy Resources): Develop one packaged combined heat and power (CHP) system which operates at 70 +% efficiency.
