The National Electric Transmission Congestion Report and Order (PDF 1.4 MB) designated the Mid-Atlantic Area National Interest Electric Transmission Corridor (Docket No. 2007–OE–01) and the Southwest Area National Interest Electric Transmission Corridor (Docket No. 2007–OE–02).

On December 3, 2007, the Department of Energy issued two orders granting rehearing to all timely filed requests for rehearing by parties to the proceedings for designating the Mid-Atlantic Area National Electric Transmission Corridor (Docket No. 2007–OE–01) and the Southwest Area National Electric Transmission Corridor (Docket No. 2007–OE–02) for the limited purpose of further consideration of the requests.

On March 6, 2008, the Department of Energy issued an order denying all applications for rehearing and requests for stay of the Department’s National Electric Transmission Congestion Report and Order (72 FR 56992 10-5-07).   This final agency action will be effective upon publication in the Federal Register.

Previously, on May 7, 2007, DOE had announced Draft National Corridor designations. (PDF 8.2 MB)
